HERE, BEE! physical theatre piece by Agate Bankava (2025)
An interactive performance for active spectators 6+ "Te, bite!" (LV)
Bees use dance to communicate and pass on information about places where honey can be harvested. Bees cooperate to reach their goal. Bees are said to be hard-working and industrious and those who know the bees' words get on with them. And how much do you know about bees, their hard work, mischiefs and secrets? The performance"Here, Bee!" will take the audience on an interactive journey through bee trails, using sound and words, movement and dance, as well as sight andtouch. It is not a coincidence that the location for the performance "Here, Bee!" is Valmiera. Because it was in Valmiera that beekeeper Armands Gumbris brought several beecolonies to collect the sweet linden honey in 2015. Ten years on, bee welfare s still a global issue. In our daily activities, we tend to forget theimportance of nature's biodiversity and bees are one of the cornerstones that help ensure this diversity.
